Social Cost Benefit Analysis

We have delivered social cost benefit analysis (SCBA) projects in several countries around the world, applying different methods and techniques to fit in with the study requirements.

Our team have also produced bespoke models on projects where there is no agreed national guidance for economic appraisal.

Much of our experience has been gained in the UK working on standard transport appraisal projects but members of our team have also worked on research projects looking at methods of attaching monetary values to impacts that were not monetized. Social cost benefit analysis projects have been completed in the UK, Belize, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Relevant experience:

  • North Luzon Expressway Phase 3 SCBA, Philippines.
  • Ninh Binh Bai Vot Expressway PPP Viability Study – as part of this pre-FS study, our staff produced a bespoke appraisal method that allowed economic impact of the expressway to be calculated. This involved utilising guidance from the UK, the World Bank and from HDM4.
  • SCBA for a sustainable fisheries PPP project at General Santos Fishing Port, the Philippines.
  • Our staff have produced numerous economic assessments of transport improvements in the UK, including Worcester Southern Link Road, A465 Heads of the Valleys and Access York Park and Ride Phase 1.
